Individual Hoof Consultations

Rates
If you are looking at your horse's hooves and they just don't seem "right", you may benefit from a hoof consultation. In many cases, that "second opinion" can help prevent future lameness.
During a hoof consultation, I observe your horse's hooves and movement, and offer recommendations to achieve better hoof health and function. A consultation takes approximately 1 hour. I often have additional literature, printouts, and resources that may be helpful.
Hoof Trimming

I am no longer taking regular trimming clients, however, I will take temporary cases of horses with pathological hooves or hoof disease. Trimming can be scheduled on a short-term consultation basis (3-6 months).
Hoof Trimming consists of removal of overgrowth and re-balancing any imbalances in the hooves. The horse owner is expected to be involved in their horse's hoof care and questions are always encouraged. After the first few trims, when your horse's hooves have been re-balanced, I will likely refer you to either one of my partners or apprentices who can keep up with the physiologically correct hoof trimming.
If your horse has deformation, pathology or disease in his hooves, I will take photographs and measurements every 3-6 months to assess changes that have taken place in the hooves.
