Why Use Hoof Boots?

|
Hoof boots have become a valuable tool for horses that are transitioning from shoes to barefoot, those that are rehabbing from deformity or lameness, and as a "spare tire" for rough terrain that a horse is not conditioned to withstand. Hoof Boots provide significantly more protection and shock absorption than metal shoes, last much longer, and have superior traction. Even better, the horse does not have to tolerate the long-term damaging effects of nailed-on metal horseshoes any longer!

As a Wholistic Bare Hoof Specialist, I have experienced first-hand many of the problems that horse owners run into when purchasing hoof boots. My Sell and Swap program solves all of these issues. Two of the most common problems I have seen are:
- Horse owners properly (or improperly) measure their horse's hooves for boots, but the boots they receive via mail do not fit right. Sending the boots back and exchanging them for the correct size can sometimes take over 1 month time, not to mention the hassle and cost of packaging and shipping. To solve this problem, I carry stock of many sizes and varieties of hoof boots with me, and I personally measure and fit the horse in boots. Sometimes, in as little as 5 minutes, you can be off riding in the correct size boots.
- When a horse is wearing horseshoes, or has been improperly trimmed, the hoof may have some degree of contraction, weakness and/or lack of thickness or density. When the horse is properly trimmed, the hooves often begin to change shape, thickness and width within the first few months. However, if your horse is a size 1 immediately after pulling the shoes, he may be a size 2 just a couple months later. This causes the horse owner to pay for 2 pairs of boots that are different sizes and the first, usually smaller, size quickly becomes useless to the horse and owner. To solve this problem, I have designed a Boot Swap program that allows you to sell and exchange your used boots with me at minimal cost.

Hoof Boot Swap

If you have Cavallo hoof boots that no longer fit your horse, but are in fine working condition, you can sell or exchange them with me. I'll need to see the boots to determine how much wear and tear they have. For example, if the boots are $100 new, and you've used them for 3 months, I might offer you $75 for the boots. I can either purchase the boots from you, give you a credit toward another pair of boots, or a credit toward any of my services. If you're looking to exchange your boots, I'll fit your horse with the proper size boot and we'll work out the difference in cost between the new boots and the old ones. And, you never have to pay shipping fees!

Hoof Boot Sales

|
Most of the "new" sales stock I carry are Cavallo SIMPLE Hoof Boots. I occasionally have used hoof boots available in other brands. If you are sure that you'd like to purchase hoof boots (usually after the hoof is done growing and changing), I will be glad to assist you in fitting your horse for the proper size boots. The Cavallo SIMPLE Hoof Boots are $100 per pair, and you never have to pay shipping fees! Used boots range from $25 and up, depending on the amount of wear on the sole/tread. If you are unsure of the style of boot that you'll need, please ask me, and I'll discuss the benefits of each style of boot with you.
